We are a growing patient-centered practice that is looking for a people-centric Chief Operations Officer (COO) who will lead and inspire our team in Coeur d'Alene, ID.


The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is a member of the executive team and provides organizational leadership in building and overseeing relationships across health center operations groups. The COO works as a business partner to the members of the executive team to ensure that the necessary process and systems are in place and implemented to meet the organization’s strategic plan. The COO is responsible for assuring efficient, customer-focused workflows, processes and practice management systems. The COO is responsible for operations across the organization at locations. Fostering teamwork, the COO will develop and implement plans for operational systems, processes, and personnel assignments to accommodate the growth and strategic planning objectives of the organization while giving priority to the health status of our patients.

In this role, you will:
  • Works collaboratively to implement strategic goals as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Designs and implement structure for organizational priorities.
  • Works with the Executive Leadership Team to identify system and program inefficiencies.
  • Works with the Executive Leadership Team to create and develop avenues of organizational communication.
  • Works with the Executive Leadership Team to establish and implement short- and long-term goals, objectives and policies.
  • Oversees project management.
  • Provides strategic analysis of future opportunities.
  • Develops systems and procedures necessary to support the strategic plan and drive and expand efficient operations across all health center delivery sites and business functions.
  • Ensures corporate compliance with relevant federal requirements for FQHC’s in practice operations and regulations.
  • As a partner with the Chief Clinical Officer, helps ensure that the clinical operations are fully supporting providers and patient care.
  • As a partner with the Chief Clinical Officer, effectively establishes and maintain collaborative working relationships with the provider staff to achieve increased provider satisfaction, retention and participation.
  • As a partner with the Chief Finance Officer, helps ensure that the organization’s financial systems, budgets, and management reporting processes are built and managed to support the organization’s growth and expansion.
  • Works with the Executive Leadership Team to help articulate and build an engaged workforce to meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Integrates data and the measurement of clinical quality and service standards with those of strategic planning and operations management and participate in the quality improvement committee.
  • Leads the operations management team in carrying out the organization’s operating objectives in a competent and professional manner.
  • Leads and mentors direct reports so that they have the tools and resources needed to partner efficiently with each other, employees and community partners.
  • Monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  • Coordinates, arranges, and approves physical space allocations and departmental resources for daily operations.
  • Reports on administrative aspects of operations to Executive Leadership Team and governing board.
  • Heritage Health staff have an active role in our Patient Centered Medical Home model of care. This role is designated as part of the Heritage Health PCMH Care Team.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in Health Care Clinical and Facility Operations
  • Community Health Center and federal policy familiarity is strongly preferred
  • Program management experience is strongly preferred.
