We are a growing patient-centered practice that is looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant with our Post-Acute team in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.


As a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant you will provide primary care diagnosis and treatment in a family practice clinical setting to a specified population. Counsel and educate patients regarding treatment and refer to ancillary and support services.


In this role, you will:
  • Provide primary care through diagnosis,, clinical judgement, and management to restore, maintain, and improve health status in accordance with practice policies and scope of practice, including:
    1. Assessment of physical, emotional, and developmental status of the individual and family;
    2. Analysis of health behavior related to personality, life style, and culture;
    3. Prescriptive treatment of health problems as defined by nurse practitioner act;
    4. Counseling and client advocacy;
    5. Provide health education to clients, clinic staff, and community organizations;
    6. Perform assessment of the environmental status of the community and its impact on health.
  • Obtain patient histories and develop patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Supervise and/or coordinates the activities of patient care and/or support staff.
  • Work in collaboration and/or coordination with other health-care providers within the clinic team and community agencies to provide comprehensive client care.
  • In coordination with other clinic staff, maintain system of quality assessment and assurance in accordance with quality assurance plan.
  • Participate in program planning, development, implementation and evaluation relating to specific job, clinic, and program functions.
  • Participate in a continuing education program designed by the nurse practitioner and approved by the Medical Director.
  • Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and in-service training and continuing education.
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing and performance evaluations of clinical personnel.
  • Maintain standards of care as described in Principles of Practice, protocols, and Scope of Practice as approved by the State of Idaho Board of Nursing and the American Medical Association.
  • Participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Participate in QA/QI activities.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Perform other related functions as required for clinic operations.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in the State of Idaho or qualified to receive certification as a FNP or an ARNP in the State of Idaho -OR-
  • Medical license from the State of Idaho to practice medicine as a Physician Assistant under a Physician’s supervision plus a medical certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Inc. (NCCPA) 
  • The medical license must be free of restriction and no litigation or disciplinary actions may be pending against the incumbent
  • 2-4 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • State of Idaho RN Licensure or ability to receive licensure required for NP candidate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • DEA and State of Idaho Controlled Substance Registration numbers
