We are a growing patient-centered practice who is looking for a part time Dental Hygienist to work Monday's and Friday's at our Dental Clinic in Coeur d' Alene.


The Heritage Health dental hygienist strives to provide dental care consistent with Heritage Health’s mission statement. The hygienist assists the dentists in providing treatment and care of the mouth, teeth, and gums. The Heritage Health hygienist’s primary duties are cleaning and polishing teeth, educating patients in proper oral hygiene habits and after care, and providing other preventative dental care and chair side assistance as needed by the dentist during examination and treatments.

Minimum eligibility and qualifications:

Completion of an accredited dental hygienist program required. Active Idaho dental hygienist license. BLS certification required. Must be able to secure credentialing through identified agencies; effective oral and written communication skills required; previous experience working with under-served population desired.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Schedule dental hygiene visits per agreed upon FTE status.
  2. Ability to see 7-9 patients per clinical day.
  3. Clean and polish teeth; polish fillings and other metal restorations.
  4. Instruct patients in good oral hygiene habits and after care.
  5. Assist dentist as needed.
  6. Understand and follow infection control procedures.
  7. Take x-rays.
  8. Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings.
  9. Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with fellow employees, physicians and patients.
  10. Ensures confidentiality of patient information.
  11. Has regular and predictable attendance.
  12. Attends all monthly staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned or indicated.
  14. Able to help with anesthesia for dentist.
  15. Willing to work with medical providers for as needed patient education
  16. Role models strong leadership skills and promotes teamwork.
  17. Follows all clinical protocols and procedures as outlined in the Provider Handbook.
  18. Actively supports decision making of the Senior Management team.
  19. Performs other duties as requested.
